Shortly after the Creation by the Sun Goddess Ollopa, there developed three families of elves in Korth. These families grew overtime into several last names but it is said that every elf in today's world can trace their roots back to at least one family clan. Here, I will teach information about each family clan so we can determine who is part of which clan and see just how we're all interconnected as a community! You can reply to this post with which clan(s) you are descended from and we will start making a list here!
The Vacca are perhaps the most oldest of the clans, having been around as a strong family unit since the ages of hunting & gathering. The most notable achievements to come out of the Vacca are the idea of animal sacrifice, the invention of the Bow & Arrow, animal hunting techniques, the naming of the land as "Korth", and the elven language - both verbal and written. In modern history, the clan is associated with the founding of the first elven empire - Hyperborea, under the wise leadership of Empress Theodora Vacca. Few artifacts survive of the Vacca after their capital city Kor'ethel (also known as Korth City) was sacked by the humans when they arrived and transformed it into their own city.
The Turunalindi are the most noblest of the clans in terms of Tir'anian culture, since it is the clan to which Torrix's mortal father Torkel and both the founders of Tir'an (Prince DayStar and Prince Duke) were descended from. They have an impressive connection to the natural world, and feel the most spiritual connection to the great trees of the forests. It is sometimes said that a true Turunalindi can listen and speak to the collective voices of the forest as if he or she were speaking one on one to another elf. It is because of this great bond, that the Turunalindi are notable for achieving the development of agriculture, harvesting, and the invention of the Sickle and Spear. We derive our concepts of life, death, and rebirth in religion from the Turunalindi.
The Aerandir are the most holiest of the clans, closest to the gods. It is from the Aerandir family that the first prophets and priests were found to teach the ways of the gods to the elven people. They realized that elves could live on faith alone without having to hunt or farm, as the Vacca and Turunalindi did. They found sustenance from prayer to the Divine Monarch. They found a sense of peace from experiencing the love of Ollopa and the joy of Torrix. While they did not create spells, they used the powers of their mind and their spirit to connect to understand the world around them. They were careful to only connect to the world and never to manipulate the world. The world was perfect and divine to the Aerandir, and so there was no need for selfish manipulation by the way of magic spells. The high priestesses of Ollopa, as well as the Guardians of the Pagoda heaven, are almost consistently from the Aerandir clan.
