Book of Caprison Empty
PostSubject: Book of Caprison   Book of Caprison EmptyTue Aug 07, 2012 11:30 pm

A holy text of Elven history has been salvaged. I will publish it here and display the book in the Ash'real vault. It is good the Elves know of their history, and this Book will join the list of Elven treasures.

The Caprison. - gospel of Ashanrai according to Caprison -

The natural cycle of the heavens began in the earliest of times, the Age of the Two Suns, with the Twin sun goddesses Ollopa and Simetra guiding the morality of the elven people. During this age, there lived the immortal elf son of Ollopa, who was so named Torrix God of the Dark Night and Bright Stars. Torrix's responsibility, while his mother reigned supreme, was to prepare the elven people for what was to come next. Upon the fusion of the twin suns into the Age of the Colossus, it became time for Ollopa to step down from her role to allow Torrix the opportunity to guide the morality of the elven people. However, a curious thing occurred in this Age of the Colossus: the dragon children of Torrix became heavily involved in the Dragon Wars of the time. There was no apparent elf heir to the heavenly throne for centuries. Elves, once proud and strong in Korth, became captive to the trivial conflicts surrounding the Dragon Wars. And then Torrix appeared to one elf that stayed true and loyal to the Elven Way: Bean Duke Turunalindi...

"You will seed a child with My Eldest Daughter, Tiamat.
This child will vanquish the drows,
restore the supremacy of the Single Unified Elven Country,
ensure the elves survive the hostilities of the Dragon Wars
and prepare elves for ensuing conflicts with Humans.
This child will be the next King of the Heavens."

So follows that after a one year pregnancy, Tiamat the eldest dragon daughter of Torrix, laid a single egg, which hatched another week later into a fine, gleaming purple dragon hatchling. Duke was said to have glanced upon the child and felt an overwhelming feeling of renewed pride in Korth. Upon first glance, the child was going to fulfill the first prophecy Duke ever heard. In keeping with elven tradition, Duke commanded that the child maintain the mother's surname (Exinoris) and that the child be first named Valuk.

Valuk was then bound to the dragon form to live the first 25 years of life as a dragon. In this 25 year span of time, Erenrai Goddess of Fire & Air was the supeme part of Valuk's spirit. Upon the 25th birthday at the right time, Valuk set off from his parents' tower home to fulfill the first part of the prophecy: vanquishing the drows.

Valuk flew to the great Pylos Volcano to confront the ruler of the drows. With a surprising amount of ease, the sinister drow ruler was thrown into the pit of the great Pylos Volcano and the Pylosian Empire was no more. Throughout Korth, every race fled in mass droves to get away from the volcanic lands to repair their old homes. Valuk transformed into an elven form called Ashanrai God of Fire & Earth to lead the elven people into the Tir'anian Renaissance.

The Tir'anian Renaissance brought the structure of the Holy Tir'an Republic to provide for the welfare of every elf man, woman, and child. Ashanrai lived for several more years in the Pandryl Holy City as the nation's Cala ("Holy Prince"). Then the Dragon Wars found their way back to the land of Korth. The land saw once again the strength and fervor of the elven people in battle.

The elves as a nation of brotherly neighbors won the Dragon Wars to secure the future of the land while other key players (the Dragon Kingdoms, Prolix) struggled under layers of bureaucratic military protocol. Ashanrai was rewarded for the elven victory by the Divine King Torrix with the other half of his divinity: Erenrai in dragon form. The two, Ashanrai and Erenrai, preserved the ancient wisdom of the Holy Tir'an Republic through the darkest war of elven history, but the life of Valuk the Holy Prince was ended abruptly just as he had at long last found the love of his life and produced heirs.

Ashanrai had an only daughter: Attasha, born from a human mother and raised in the Holy Tir'an Republic. The Archduke from Prolix carried her off when, enticed by the bloom of the narcissus humans, she strayed too far from the holy elven cities. The Archduke married her away to his castle in Prolix. Together the Ashanrai and the Erenrai flied through the air as Valuk to rescue Attasha. Nine days Valuk hovered above the Archduke's castle, and all that time neither Valuk made contact with anyone. On the ninth day, Valuk proclaimed a curse on the Archduke:first on the man's name Xandrake Tomkewycz and second upon the human race to never again be allowed into a bond with dragons. Henceforth, Valuk had to return to guide the elven people as is his duty, Attasha was never allowed out of the dungeon walls of the Archduke's castle, and Prolix never again had a leader bonded with a dragon. The grief had troubled Valuk so severely that Ashanrai became erratic in the Torritian Palace.

Soon after, Valuk the Holy Prince was Stolen from the Torritian Palace. Taken to the Prolix Square Garden, the humans pitted both forms of Valuk, Ashanrai the elf and Erenrai the dragon, against the ghost dragon Nyx. In front of an applauding human crowd, Valuk the Holy Prince was killed and thrown into the permanent spirit realm.

Upon instant arrival to the Pagoda Heaven, Valuk was officially granted a divine stature from the Divine King Torrix. Tir'an suffered some years of unease in unable to find a suitable leader to replace Valuk the Holy Prince. But alas there came a moment just when it appeared the Prolix Humans completely dominated Korth, that the Torrix annointed the Valuk to guide a new age of the elven people as the New Divine King. To usher in a new age, Valuk created the Age of Rainbow with an overhaul of the world's colossal star to be replaced by a great sun rainbow.

In with the great sun ranbow brought four large islands from the heavenly cloud city Pagoda to fall upon the land of Korth. One fallen to the island of ancient Aspreith To mark the historical holy; One fallen to stonehenge of moon god Ranul To cleanse the evil; One fallen to the tunnel of ancient Dioscuri To provide seed for the dwarf; And the Greatest One fallen to the holy Tir'anian forest To give new life to the elf.

Valuk did descend to the heavenly body that fell to the Tir'anian Forest, hence the heavenly body be sacred ground. Stayjit bore witness to Valuk the new Divine King upon the newly sacred ground. And it was deemed that the sacred ground bare a temple city to be called Ash'rael. May it be the central point of all elven life for times to come. From Ash'rael power over the minor three fallen islands shall be administered.
