The Prolix Empire has amassed an incredible abundance of lumber. More than any person could ever need. So in the spirit of genorosity, lumber can now be bought at an incredibly discounted price in Prolix. The new price is 10 SP per lumber. Down from the usual 65 sp per lumber

The price of lumber should NOT go down just because YOU have lots.
The price should be set by the amount people are gonna pay!
DEMAND makes the price!

It is the prerogative of the supplier to set the price of the product they wish to sell a particular product at. Both supply and demand are important factors in establishing a price. So when a supply is really high and demand is really low at any point in time, it is logical (by your own conclusions about economics) that the price should fall

That is exactly how capitalism works! The market and prices go through cycles, based on current market conditions. "Buy low, sell high" has always been the foundation of making money and always will be because "Buy high, sell low" makes no sense unless you're literally on drugs.

If someone wants to buy up an entire supply and go into an extremely profitable business for themselves, that is their right in the open market to do so.
